Workshop: Trash Can Treasures Scrap Quilts by Donna Hanson and Janet O’Neil--This great scrap buster quilt is a plan ahead quilt. Start now sewing 5 inch long strips varying from 1 1⁄2 inch to 2 1⁄2 inch pieces until you get a 10 yard length 5 inches wide. Then come to class and learn how to sew this strip into squares. Donna and Janet will show us how to lay out of this quilt to mimic a log cabin quilt. Start now making your 10 yard strip.

Program: Virtual Sewing Room Tour by Chris Lorenz and Aleta Anderson In brainstorming about program ideas, we were wishing we all could visit each others' sewing rooms. Our idea for a virtual sewing room tour was born when we found out other guilds photo- graphed members sewing rooms. Not professional photographers we still had fun and appreciate the members who volunteered to open their home to us. Come and enjoy what we discovered behind closed doors.

Quilt Show –2012

Keepsake Quilt Guild will once again sponsor a quilt show. The show will take place on Nov. 1,2,3, 2012 at the John Deere Supervisor’s Club on Ridgeway Ave., Waterloo. We are looking for several volunteers to help chair the various committees needed to organize a successful show. If you were able to chair or work on a committee for the last quilt show, you know how rewarding AND fun it is. If you are interested, please sign up at the general meeting on Jan. 16 or contact Cheryl Peck (277-2629, clpeck@cfu.net ) or Leann Abraham (277-4235, labraham@cfu.net ).

Preliminary plans include a gala “opening night” event on Thursday evening. Theme is yet to be decided.

There will be an organizational meeting at Cheryl’s house on Tuesday, Jan. 24th, 7:00PM (4724 Donald Dr., Cedar Falls). Please come if you would like to get involved, meet others and have fun working on the show. Bring your ideas and enthusiasm!!
