Workshop: Quilts to Share Challenge: Quilts to Share will provide the kits. We are making
Patriotic quilts for the World War II Veterans to show our appreciation and thank them for
keeping our country free. This is a service project for our guild. Please consider coming to sew
with us if not all day part of the day.

September 19

Workshop: Candy Dish is a traditional kaleidoscope pattern design. This design lends itself to using
fabric scraps. Heidi will provide us with step-by-step instruction including tips and tricks for pulling
together your fabric collection for this scrappy project. Heidi has a starter kit of 10 assorted 1930’s
type prints for $10.00 please pre-order by the Aug meeting. She will also have Kaleido-Ruler by Marti
Mitchell for sale at the workshop. Workshop is from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm and the cost is $35.00

October 17

Workshop: Hexagonal Table Topper by Jan Drake, a guild member. This six-sided table topper is
great to showcase fabric motifs. You will cut 12 diamonds then add log cabin strips to the diamonds.
You can make any size table topper depending upon the size of your original diamonds and the number
of log cabin strips you add. Jan’s topper measures 26” x 30” or mini 14” x16”. This project was in
Fons & Porter’s Love of Quilting, Nov/Dec 2010 magazine. Jan has been quilting for 12 years. No
special ruler is needed for this project. The cost is $15.00

Sit N Sew-Finish your Christmas/Other Projects--This is an opportunity to finish up those Christmas projects for gift giving or a house decoration. Do you have a workshop project that needs finishing? You will be able to sew with out interruption from the outside world. Plus if you want help or comments on your UFO I’m sure someone can help you out.

Trash Can Treasures Scrap Quilts by Donna Hanson and Janet O’Neil--This great scrap buster quilt is a plan ahead quilt. Start now sewing 5 inch long strips varying from 1 1⁄2 inch to 2 1⁄2 inch pieces until you get a 10 yard length 5 inches wide. Then come to class and learn how to sew this strip into squares. Donna and Janet will show us how to lay out of this quilt to mimic a log cabin quilt. Start now making your 10 yard strip.
